Frequently Asked Questions
1) Are you an RMT?
No. I am not a Registered Massage Therapist. I have a Certificate and a Diploma in Raynor Naturopathic Massage, which I took from Raynor Massage School Canada in February of 2021.
2) Can I use my benefits?
In some cases, yes. You'll have to check your coverage for "alternative therapies" or "naturopathic therapies". If you have extended medical coverage, it may cover the treatment. I have no problem giving you a receipt which you can submit to your benefits provider. In most cases, my clients pay out of pocket for my treatments, which is why I have priced them lower than a registered massage therapist would charge.
3) What is Raynor Massage like?
Raynor Massage is a style of massage that incorporates elements of Thai Massage, Shiatsu, Ayurvedic Massage, Lomi Lomi, and Reflexology. It is great as a deep tissue massage, sports massage, pregnancy massage, and therapeutic massage. I recently had a client describe it as "the perfect blend of relaxing and therapeutic". The method relieves tension from the physical, mental, emotional and traumatic layers in the body, giving an overall feeling of whole body wellness. As the practitioner, I use my elbows to excavate accupressure points along meridians in the body, timed with your breath. I also use stretching techniques, and a variety of warm up and reward techniques for the muscles. The modality has a focus on Reflexology, relieving tension from reflex points on the hands, feet, belly and head to get to our roots of tension. It's very healing and something that must be experienced to understand its full benefits!
4) What is Reiki?
Reiki is a form of energy healing work. It is a healing technique based on the principle that the therapist can channel universal energy into the patient by means of touch, to activate the natural healing processes of the patient's body and restore physical and emotional well-being. It is a deeply relaxing, restoring and balancing practise for the client and is great for all kinds of mental, physical and spiritual ailments. If you are open to receiving this work, it will benefit your life in so many ways.
5) What is Reflexology and what benefit does it have?
Reflexology is the application of pressure to areas on the feet (or the hands). ... The theory behind reflexology is that areas of the foot correspond to organs and systems of the body. Pressure applied to the foot is believed to bring relaxation and healing to the corresponding area of the body.
